A Puget Sound native, Katie Morgan brings over two decades of marketing experience, from driving regional campaigns to managing multimillion-dollar projects. Before joining Sound Publishing, she honed her skills at The Home Depot, where she started as a marketing artist overseeing nine states and $4.5 billion in annual sales. Her role evolved into Visual Merchandise Manager, overseeing 133 grand openings and capital projects across 17 states and two Canadian provinces, contributing to an impressive $14.7 billion annual sales. Katie also worked with Big Advertising in Toronto to develop a digital asset management platform, expanding her expertise in the digital space.

After the 2009 economic slowdown, Katie demonstrated her resilience by splitting her time between consulting for Home Depot and taking on a marketing role at Sound Publishing. Her unique blend of creative problem-solving, team collaboration, and strategic thinking led her to a business development role, where she helped shape the company's future with new technologies and strategies that continue to give clients a competitive edge today. In her first decade at Sound, she earned 15 industry awards for excellence in advertising, design, and digital marketing—including multiple Best Ad Series and Best Mobile/Website Design awards.

In 2018, Katie embraced her passion for the arts and media by serving as a corporate sponsorship ambassador for KNKX-NPR and PRX, helping to bridge the gap between media and community. She credits this role for many memorable evenings spent with clients at Seattle's best shows—before the world shut down.

When the pandemic struck and she was furloughed, Katie didn't let it deter her. Instead, she turned her focus to community work, joining the Board of Kitsap Cancer Services. Here, she played a crucial role in securing vital funding and revamping the organization's digital presence. Her commitment to learning and growth led her to pursue continuing education, ensuring she stays ahead of the curve in marketing and technology.

In October 2021, Katie returned to Sound Publishing as a strategic leader who thrives on tackling complex challenges and keeping the organization focused on its goals. Her return is a testament to her unwavering commitment and leadership.

Outside of work, Katie's personality shines through her passion for adventure. She’s volunteered with Habitat for Humanity locally and internationally, building homes in places like Thailand, Cambodia, and Malawi. She’s also no stranger to adventure, whether it’s diving with sixgill sharks for research, participating in counter-terrorism driving in the desert, or paddling thousands of miles through the waters of the Salish Sea with true Puget sound Natives. When she’s not working, you’ll find her exploring under the waves or supporting organizations that make a difference.
